Youtube Strike

So I don’t have many YouTube videos and I don’t have many subscribes. I’ve been using it mostly for the video quality. They have a really good compression codec. It’s very good quality.

Basically I just use it to experiment and put up the odd video here and there. I wouldn’t call myself an active user of the platform.

YouTube Age Restriction

I’ve had a few video age restricted. Including — coincidentally the Xmas video that I made last year. It’s just a montage of some of the pictures and clips that I have received over the years.

I did appeal but I lost that appeal and it remains age restricted. A couple of other videos that I appealed were accepted.

There are some guys kissing in the video but it’s not really that racy.. IMHO anyway.. It’s not even that good a video. That’s why I didn’t really get upset. But age restricting your video basically means that not many will see it.

Youtube Strike

A week after the Xmas I received this message.

Hi Gaydar TV,

As you may know, our Community Guidelines describe which content we allow – and don’t allow – on YouTube. Your video “Latino European Amateur Guys Chilling | Photo Collage Video Tube Clip” was flagged for review. Upon review, we’ve determined that it violates our guidelines. We’ve removed it from YouTube and assigned a Community Guidelines strike, or temporary penalty, to your account.

Video content restrictions
YouTube isn’t the place for sexually provocative content. In addition to this, violent, graphic, or humiliating fetishes aren’t allowed on YouTube, and videos containing this type of content will be removed. We review content on a case by case basis, and videos will either be removed or age restricted, depending on the severity of the act. Learn more here.

The impact of strikes
This is the first strike applied to your account. We understand that users seldom intend to violate our policies. That’s why strikes don’t last forever – this strike will expire in three months. However, it’s important to remember that additional strikes could prevent you from posting content to YouTube or even lead to your account being terminated.

How you can respond
If you believe this was a mistake, we’d like to hear from you. Please follow both of these steps as simply deleting the video won’t resolve the strike on your account.

The next time you sign in you will be asked to acknowledge this strike on your account.
If you would like to appeal this strike, please submit this form. Our team will thoroughly review your appeal and will contact you again very soon.

When I logged back in a big RED message appeared telling me that I had received my first strike.

YouTube Censorship

I watched the video that was ‘removed’ and it was similar to the Xmas video. Just a montage of guys and some were indeed kissing. It had a Latin theme but it wasn’t overly sexual.

FYI the video that they removed had been up for 8 months. The only thing I figure is that my previous age restriction must have triggered an event. I didn’t appeal because I had lost the previous one with the Christmas video.

They said that the strike would lapse so I just waited my time. Again I’m not a regular user of YouTube.

After that I have been reluctant to post many video on there.
